The Hub Singapore's video about the social entrepreneurship movement in Singapore made us dig deep and ask ourselves: How do we define success, be it big or small? What drives each of us, be it in work, or whatever we do. How do you define success? In sharing our answers with you, we hope you find your own answer in whatever you're doing too :)
Success to me is...
  • A 2 step process,
        1. To be able to experience life fully and meaningfully
        2. Help others achieve step 1
         - Kai
  • Connected with ongoing action - to go from failure to failure without losing heart. As long as you keep on going, keep on trying, you will get to success.
  • Doing something that makes me genuinely happy and provides me with a sense of purpose and contribution. Doing something thats meaningful for myself and for others.
  • Enjoying every moment of my life, to experience all kinds of different things, to be an expert in the areas I love and to share my life with family and friends.
  • Being at ease with all my efforts, the state of my relationships and having the wisdom to know and act upon the knowledge that success is a journey which requires me to be brave and optimistic.
  • About making a positive difference in people's lives.
  • Knowing that if I die tomorrow, I will be happy with how I spent my time alive.
  • Making my own life story. Everyone is unique in their own way and should not be pressured/suppressed by societal norms. I would love to strive for what I am really passionate about, give back to society, and learn/understand more about myself and others. I would also want to maintain a balance in life priorities as I could not have come this far without the support of my loved ones.
  • Being recognized as a positive contributor to the community or country that I live in, sharing my philosophies which hopefully can benefit the people I work with, and making the impossible, possible.

And to end the week, here is Demetri Martin's take on success. I expect in words, to him,  success is the end point after a crazy messy journey. Hang in there and have a great weekend ahead :)
