Jimmy* is a very enthusiastic 10 years old child with autism and is usually hyperactive. He likes to express himself through art, movement and expressions. Sometimes, he finds a need to channel his verbal stimming behaviour through art and writing so that this could reduce his tendency to scream. Recently, Jimmy participated in a children's camp organized by 1gniter. He participated in all the activities during the camp with enthusiasm. Sometimes, he displayed his stimming behavior, and there is a need to help him keep calm. One such example happened during the art therapy session. He got so frustrated that he tore the first piece of art he did (see Picture A above). After that, he used the T.Jacket and that immediately calmed him to complete his art (see Picture B above). This is a major difference compared to before he uses the T.Jacket where he displayed anger and frustration through his drawing. *Name changed for confidentiality purpose.
